It
was a short, sharp module – covering only the most used
functionality of XP: accessing and saving files, connecting
to a printer, logging off the computer and using Outlook.
The module was structured so that learners could dip into
the module and easily access the learning they required for
a particular function. Simulations were developed to allow
learners to practice these skills in the simulator before
trying them out on their own desktop. In keeping with the
just-in-time, just as much information as you need philosophy,
learners had the option of watching overview movies of the
functions or going through a step-by-step demonstration –
different levels of support for different levels of need.
